PUBLICATION ETHICS
The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Cimahi, Indonesia, published Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, first issued in 2003 and online in 2017. Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, is an online scientific journal published four times yearly. The journal accepts research findings, case reports, literature reviews, and other relevant topics in medicine and health.
This statement of scientific ethics is a declaration of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely the publisher, editor, peer reviewers, and authors. The Scientific Publication Ethics Code essentially upholds three ethical values in publication, namely:
- Neutrality, which means free from conflicts of interest in publication management.
- Fairness, which grants authorship rights to those who are eligible as authors.
- Honesty is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.
Publisher Ethics and Policies
- Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, is responsible for publishing manuscripts that have undergone editing, review, and layout processes by the standards of scientific journal publication.
- Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, ensures academic freedom for editors and peer reviewers in their duties.
- Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, maintains privacy, protects intellectual property and copyrights, and ensures editorial freedom.
Editor Ethics and Policies
- The Editor of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, decides which manuscripts are eligible for publication through the editorial board's meeting, which refers to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
- In the process of review and acceptance of manuscripts, the editorial team of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, is guided by the principle of equal treatment in decision-making regarding the publication of manuscripts, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the authors.
- The Editor and editorial team of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, will not disclose any information about the manuscripts or their content unless authorized by the authors.
- Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by the editorial team of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, for their research purposes and will be returned directly to the authors.
Peer Reviewer Ethics and Policies
- Peer reviewers of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, assist the editor in making editorial decisions regarding the submitted manuscripts.
- Peer reviewers of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, are responsible for their recommendations for the reviewed manuscripts.
- The review of manuscripts is conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments.
- Peer reviewers of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, are responsible for citations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in their review manuscripts.
- Peer reviewers of Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, must maintain the confidentiality of the information and not use any information from the reviewed manuscripts for personal gain or interest.
Author Publication Ethics
- Authors must present their manuscripts resulting from their thoughts or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism.
- Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in their manuscripts.
- Authors must cite the opinions and works of others that they have referenced.
- Authors must write manuscripts ethically, honestly, and responsibly by applicable scientific writing regulations.
- Authors only object if their manuscripts undergo editing during the review and layout process with changing the substance or main ideas of the writing.
Scientific Ethics Violation Policy
Articles submitted to Medika Kartika, Journal of Medicine and Health, during the publication process or after publication, if found to have duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism, will be immediately retracted and declared unfit for publication.
